Call 112 if someone is in acute, life-threatening danger or an ambulance is needed right now. UrgentX is not an ambulance service and does not transport patients.

Transporting medicines in line with GDP, chapter 9

Our way of working is built around the transport-related parts of chapter 9 of guideline 2013/C 343/01 (GDP): the agreed condition, measurement at pickup and delivery, reporting of deviations and delivery to the addressee. Your quality department can audit us. The driver completed GDP training for transport. We do not claim a GDP certificate; a carrier without a wholesale distribution authorisation cannot obtain one.

We transport under the condition you or the manufacturer prescribe: 15-25 °C or 2-8 °C, in insulated boxes. The temperature is measured at pickup and at delivery. On a deviation we do not deliver without your release, and the deviation is in the record.

Hospital pharmacies supplying wards or satellite locations, compounding pharmacies with branches, community pharmacies with urgent deliveries to nursing homes and home care.

Medicines travel separately from samples.

Frequently asked questions

Is UrgentX GDP-certified?

No, and a carrier without a wholesale distribution authorisation cannot be: a GDP certificate is issued by the competent authority (in the Netherlands the IGJ) to a wholesaler after an inspection. Our way of working is set up for the transport parts of GDP chapter 9, the driver completed the GDP training for transport and your quality department can audit us.

Do medicines always have to be transported refrigerated?

No. The condition follows from the packaging, the manufacturer or your instruction: 15-25 °C in an insulated box or 2-8 °C in a cool box with pre-conditioned elements. We transport under the condition you specify and measure the temperature at pickup and at delivery.

What happens in case of a temperature excursion?

We report immediately to your contact person, do not deliver without your release and record the excursion in the file. Whether the product is still usable is your assessment as the responsible party; we establish and report.

Which ride data is recorded?

The actual pickup and delivery time, name and role of the person who signs, the temperature measured at pickup and delivery, the status per package and any deviations. You see it in the customer portal and in the ride report. Which documents travel along, such as a delivery note, depends on the shipment.

Can I request a delivery in the evening?

Yes. You can request or call at any time. We drive every day from 07:00 to 22:00, so evenings too. For an agreed window with a response time fixed in advance there is standby.
